Materuni waterfall is one if the impressive waterfall found around Kilimanjaro national park, it is one of the tallest waterfalls having 100 m height to its basin. Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe and is still an authentic tribal village. On a clear day views of kibo peak and Moshi town can be seen from this point.
Location:
The waterfall is located at Materuni village which is found 37 km away from Moshi town, from that point there is a 40 minutes hike towards the waterfall. The waterfall is at a height of 2500 m from the sea level. Materuni village is one of the villages where the chagga people can be found.
Attraction:
Materuni waterfall is the main attraction; however there are other attractions such as the coffee plantation, botanical gardens, chagga culture, scenic view of the area, birds, and some animals such as colobus monkeys.
Activities:
At Materuni waterfall activities may include Swimming, hiking, bird watching, photographing and traditional meals and brew.
Spending time:
The trip shall have an average of 7 hours from 1000 hours to 1630 hours in the evening.
